‘Threadless’

Color Defense
By my last few posting it might be easy to assume that all I am doing is designing t-shirts but I promise that is not the case. I have actually been quite busy working on all kinds of projects. I plan on posting on those soon. I am more eager to find time to get on here and blog about my lettering process. With that said I have however been using some of my spare time to bust out some ideas for shirt designs that had been brewing in my mind for some time. This is one I was excited to work on. I had the idea of an octopus sqirting out bright colorful inks in defense. Blend and defend!

For any graphic designer who has a little extra time and inspiration, Threadless is a great thing to be discovered. For the past couple months in my spare time I have had a lot of fun designing some shirts for Threadless. Basically its a contest. You design a shirt, load it on Threadless, people vote, and hopefully you score well and the lovely folks at Threadless choose to print your shirt. If that isn’t exciting enough in itself you also get paid $2000. Nice chunk of cash and sometimes there are other tasty prizes. This submission Surreal Souvenir is a shirt I designed for a Threadless contest called “Threadless Loves Travel”. These contests give you a theme to design for and extra incentives most of the time. I have designed a hand full of shirts so far but this one has gotten the best voting. I am excited to see how it does!
