A few months ago I received an email with a request to join a creative network called PNW (Premium Network Worldwide). PNW is an invitation only community that Selects, Integrates and Showcase global creative talent to art directors, commissioners, publishers and employers worldwide. They are fairly new but seem to be growing. I was thrilled to be asked to join as the site seems to have a lot going for it.

In January I was selected as Artist of the month and interviewed which was also a thrill. (Interview)
I can also be found on most of your most popular creative networks as well. Some include: Coroflot, Deviant Art, Behance, LinkedIn and then of course PNW. If you are an artist, writer, or illustrator and designer like myself, I encourage you to check out PNW. You can go to their site and request an invite. It Never hurts to keep working at getting your name out there, I know that has been one of my marketing motos. You never know who could run across you at the right time. Of course that is what Networking is all about.
For any graphic designer who has a little extra time and inspiration, Threadless is a great thing to be discovered. For the past couple months in my spare time I have had a lot of fun designing some shirts for Threadless. Basically its a contest. You design a shirt, load it on Threadless, people vote, and hopefully you score well and the lovely folks at Threadless choose to print your shirt. If that isn’t exciting enough in itself you also get paid $2000. Nice chunk of cash and sometimes there are other tasty prizes. This submission Surreal Souvenir is a shirt I designed for a Threadless contest called “Threadless Loves Travel”. These contests give you a theme to design for and extra incentives most of the time. I have designed a hand full of shirts so far but this one has gotten the best voting. I am excited to see how it does!

Illustration Friday subject of the week is foggy. Not froggy, foggy. A frog goes out for a morning surf as the fog rolls off the surface of the pond. I may have stretched a bit fitting the subject but it work right!?

Illustration friday!
This is an illustration I did for Illustration friday
The subject was seed. I wasn’t overly inspired at first but then this little weird character came to my mind. Kinda plays off of the whole “you reap what you sew” mentality. Kind bizarre but we all have our weird moments. There is a little bit of meaning in some of the details that I’m sure can be easily picked out. I didn’t spend too much time on it really but I’m decently happy with the outcome. Just experimenting with some new styles and new techniques Ive learned in Illustrator..
Turns out Gradient Mesh isn’t too hateful to use if you figure out how to do it right.
